In fact, in the memorandum of the year 2016, it has been told that as soon as the Dearness Allowance (DA) will be 50% i.e. 50% of the basic salary, then it will be reduced to zero. Means after being zero, the dearness allowance which is being received now at 42 percent, will start back from 1 percent, 2 percent. This will happen because, as soon as 50 percent dearness allowance (DA Hike) is reached, it will be merged with the basic salary. ,

DA can be 46 percent (7th Pay Commission Update)

Let us tell you that from October 2023, the employees will get the benefit of increased allowance, but the government can announce it by July 2023. If there is an increase of 4 percent in the DA of the employees, then your dearness allowance will increase to 46 percent, while in the next January it can reach 50 percent. After which the dearness allowance will become zero and it will be merged with the basic salary.

According to the data of AICPI till November 2022, an increase of 4 percent in dearness allowance is clearly visible. Please tell that the AICPI index has reached 132.5. If the dearness allowance is increased by 4 percent, then it will reach 46 percent (Dearness Allowance).

Can consider increasing the fitment factor

It has been a long standing demand of central and state employees that their fitment factor should be increased from 2.57 times to 3.68 times. According to sources, the government may consider this demand of central employees. If this happens then it can also be discussed in the month of January for central employees.

If this happens then the basic salary at level-3 will increase from Rs.18000 to Rs.26000. Directly there will be an increase of Rs 8000 in the salary of the employees. Along with this, the effect will also be seen in the payment of DA.

At present, there is a basic salary of Rs 18000 on pay-bed level-1. This is the minimum basic. If you see its calculation, then in total, you get Rs 7560 as dearness allowance. But, if you see the same calculation on 50% dearness allowance, then you will get 9000 rupees. Now here comes the catch. As soon as there is 50 percent DA, it will be reduced to zero and added to the basic salary. Means the salary of Rs 18000 will increase by Rs 9000 to reach Rs 27000. After this, the dearness allowance will be calculated at Rs.27,000. If after 0, if DA increases by 3 percent, then 810 rupees a month will increase in his salary.

Dearness allowance increases twice a year

Dearness allowance is increased twice a year by the government. It is implemented in January and July. However, this announcement happens late every year. Like this time the decision of dearness allowance for January was taken in March. Similarly, the decision of July is made in September-October.
