Imran Khan: There is a political ruckus in Pakistan regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan. PTI party chief Imran Khan is hiding in his house to avoid arrest. On Wednesday, there was an atmosphere of war outside his house. Imran’s supporters gathered to save him from arrest and clashed with the police, which led to the use of force and firing of tear gas shells by the police. During this, Imran was seen wearing a gas mask.
Court gave verdict on Fawad Chaudhary’s petition
Lahore High Court Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh gave these orders while hearing a petition by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary seeking to stop the “atrocities” outside Zaman Park (home of Imran Khan). Earlier, the court had directed Punjab IG, Chief Secretary and Islamabad Police (Operations) chief to appear in the court by 3 pm.
what is toshakhana case
In Urdu it is called Toshakhana and in English it is called Treasury. All gifts received by government officials from foreign guests and delegates are deposited in the Toshakhana. The Prime Minister gets an exemption that he can take the gifts he has received, but according to the rules, he has to pay some percentage of the cost of those gifts. The allegation against Imran is that whatever gift he got, he sold it and earned around $36 million. It is alleged that he never deposited the expensive watches received as a gift in the Toshakhana. This is a violation of the rules.
